BOOstinG Innovation and Entrepreneurship through European Universities

GENDER EQUALITY PROMOTION

To contribute to the achievement of the objectives of greater gender equality in HEIs, Boogie-U partners agreed to integrate a gender perspective in their project activities and to adopt ad hoc actions to support gender inclusion (T2.4 Gender equality promotion), including but not limited to promoting female participation in all initiatives, collecting gender data on participation in all initiatives, considering gender equality when identifying speakers for all activities and organize ad-hoc events to promote women entrepreneurs, innovators, and scientists as role models for students and staff

Women Stories

Integrating the gender dimension in the BOOGIE-U project means incorporating a gender perspective into each I&E initiatives in the HEIs as well as in the ecosystem to decrease gender gap and discrimination, increasing inclusion and fostering innovation.

Seeing is believing. One way we can pave the way for more girls and women to pursue roles traditionally perceived as male-dominated is by promoting visible female role models within the innovation, technology and entrepreneurship dimension.

Actions

  • Guidelines for gender-inclusive language in English
Several strategies can be adopted to promote gender equality through language, while writing in a clear and fluid way. In the following guidelines, partners have identified some to be shared throughout the consortium.
  • Resources and tools to promote gender equality within HEIs
Inclusion refers to how diversity is leveraged to create a fair, equitable, healthy, and high-performing organization or community where all individuals are respected, feel engaged and motivated, and their contributions toward meeting organizational and societal goals are valued.
  • Best practises
As effective approaches to gender mainstreaming are available in the EU, it is fundamental to support knowledge building, information exchange and networking among stakeholders. For this purpose, Institut National des Ssciences Aappliquées (INSA) Toulouse and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona shared their initiatives to inspire and serve as a catalyst for the design and dissemination of effective measures in different HEIs, enterprises and working environments.
